The STOP F.E.A.R. Coalition, through DELTA Project, endeavors to bring together businesses, youth groups, communities of faith, educators, and health professionals who are committed to ending intimate partner violence.
Intimate Partner Violence prevention work is both exciting and daunting. It requires creativity, partnership and the will to change the way people value and treat one another. STOP F.E.A.R. ’s ultimate goal is to create a community where everyone can feel respected and safe.
The STOP F.E.A.R Coalition was established by the Rockland County Commission on Women's Issues in 1986. The original premise of the coalition was that there must be coordination of every aspect of the Criminal Justice System's response to domestic abuse in order to improve women's safety. more effectively old perpetrators accountable and ultimately to end domestic abuse.
Years later, it was recognized that coordination efforts needed to include other Rockland systems and institutions as well. An important rationale behind this Community Collaboration model was to shift the burden from individual victims of abuse to the community as a whole.
